Race 1 – Fairview Racecourse
FOREST SPY was slow out of the gate on debut but did solid work to find his way to 3rd. He should be much sharper for the outing and if he gets his start right could notch up a score on 2nd attempt. EMILY’S SPIRIT is worth a look on debut for Alan Greeff based on pedigree and riding arrangements, Greg Cheyne is a pleasing booking.
Top Tip – FOREST SPY (1)
One to consider – EMILY’S SPIRIT (7)

ROSE OF MINE needed the outing when 6th on first start since joining Zietsman Oosthuizen. Now fitted with first-time blinkers she could take quite a step forward. RIO SUPREMO has shown glimpses of promise and could show up well on local/yard debut for Kumaran Naidoo.
Top Tip – ROSE OF MINE (1)
One to consider – RIO SUPREMO (2)
Race 3 – Fairview Racecourse
DRENGS FERRY wasn’t too far back the last twice in 7th at Kenilworth and is interesting making local debut on first start for Zietsman Oosthuizen. Improvement is likely with the up in trip possibly unlocking a lot. AENEAS has come across the Cape for a raid and looks quite capable of building on her progression as she continues to sharpen up.
Top Tip – DRENGS FERRY (1)
One to consider – AENEAS (2)

HIGH MOON is highly respected on his Western Cape form and is undoubtedly trip capable. He is faced with a lousy barrier draw but some good riding can negate that enough for him to rate a chance. BOLD STRIKE has struck form and could double down with plenty of momentum on return to this longer trip.
Top Tip – HIGH MOON (1)
One to consider – BOLD STRIKE (3)
Race 5 – Fairview Racecourse
VIDA FUTURA returns from a short rest to make first start for Candice Bass-Robinson. A trip winner, this sort of event is well-within his wheelhouse. A THOUSAND TUNES is arguably better over the AW but has shown promise over turf and could build on a couple of narrow 2nd finishes following his maiden win over 11f on the AW here in November.
Top Tip – VIDA FUTURA (2)
One to consider – A THOUSAND TUNES (3)

GLOBAL DRUMMER lines up for a hat trick following a short rest. He is a prominent runner who if allowed to get a commanding lead will take a serious amount of stopping over an ideal C&D despite giving away weight all round. WILD COAST doesn’t seem to like the AW so a return to turf could see Justin Snaith’s trip winner get back into the contest.
Top Tip – GLOBAL DRUMMER (1)
One to consider – WILD COAST (2)
Race 7 – Fairview Racecourse
STRANGER DANGER made a fruitless trek to Kenilworth when beating none home at 40/1 odds. We can ignore that as his prior form here is excellent he ratters the one to beat over ideal C&D. REGIMENTAL has become a new horse since joining Alan Greeff, possessing a strong local record and seems to be somewhat benefitting from the application of blinkers.
Top Tip – STRANGER DANGER (2)
One to consider – REGIMENTAL (3)

EMPERORS DECREE is proving a progressive sort who justified market support over C&D last month. He looks the kind who can double up as he continues his ascendancy for Juan Nel. OVATION has shown bits and pieces across 9 starts but could find some money on local debut on his 2nd outing sporting blinkers.
Top Tip – EMPERORS DECREE (2)
One to consider – OVATION (5)
