Race 1 – Chepstow Racecourse
MAC’S DILEMMA looks best under top weight following a couple of placed efforts in the wake of a nice hat trick. His rider takes 5lb off and he’s capable of striking while the iron is hot. SIR PLATO was denied a C&D double by a short head when 2nd here 18 days ago. A 5lb hike seems stiff but he’s still likely to remain competitive.
Top Tip – MAC’S DILEMMA (1)
One to consider – SIR PLATO (2)
Race 2 – Chepstow Racecourse
DRESDEN GREEN was nothing of note in 9th on debut at Windsor but the lesson was put to good work. A much-improved 3rd at Lingfield since, he’s looking to possess ample scope and should be right amongst it. CROSSTITCH is worth a look now sporting a visor following back to back 3rd place efforts.
Top Tip – DRESDEN GREEN (3)
One to consider – CROSSTITCH (2)
Race 3 – Chepstow Racecourse
OUR MAN IN HAVANA was bested by the reopposing ASTROPHYSICS by a head over 5f here following a similarly narrow success on comeback run. Both runners are off the same mark today and that might be enough for the selection to reverse the form.
Top Tip – OUR MAN IN HAVANA (2)
One to consider – ASTROPHYSICS (4)
Race 4 – Chepstow Racecourse
NO SAINT was well-backed on debut and did well to find 3rd after tracking well for most of the run. He’s capable of sharpening up significantly for that effort and should do so. STREETS OF GOLD is a well-bred debutant of note for Even Johnson Houghton.
Top Tip – NO SAINT (1)
One to consider – STREETS OF GOLD (2)
Race 5 – Chepstow Racecourse
INFINITI is in top form, having won both flat runs since returning from a successful hurdle campaign. An exciting hat trick is within reach as she lines up off 6lb higher. UNCLE HENRY handled the up in class with style when 5th at Pontefract latest and can land plenty of blows now back in much calmer waters.
Top Tip – INFINITI (6)
One to consider – UNCLE HENRY (2)
Race 6 – Chepstow Racecourse
EDINBURGH ROCK gets an emphatic nod on handicap bow as he goes up in trip following some eventless efforts in the maiden/novice ranks. He’s bred for this range and should be able to strike off a mark of 62. THE GREEN AMIGO is another who should find improvement in the handicaps after failing to make an impression at all in the novice/maiden ranks.
Top Tip – EDINBURGH ROCK (1)
One to consider – THE GREEN AMIGO (3)
Race 7 – Chepstow Racecourse
FELLOWSHIP fired up in the dying moments to score by a short head on comeback run at Yarmouth in a first-time visor. The headgear is retained and the 4lb higher perch can see him go back for a double. ITSALLABOUTLUCK is worth a look now fitted with a tongue-tie following a fair 3rd on yard bow for Peter Bowen following 226 days off.
Top Tip – FELLOWSHIP (8)
One to consider – ITSALLABOUTLUCK (3)
