OTTOMAN PRINCE was an absolute surprise winner on debut over C&D, getting up by ¾ of a length at eye-watering 80/1 odds. He can back it up here under penalty, but don’t expect that price any time soon. SILKY SMOOTH is a well-bred sort for Roger Varian who can come on plenty for a mediocre debut.

JUMBEAU has held her own in Listed ranks in her 3 outings since a debut win at Brighton. A drop into calmer waters can see her return to winning ways for Tom Clover. GIRL MAGIC has landed 2nd best the last twice and can fill a similar positon here. That said, a 7lb claimer aboard sees her weighted for a possible tilt at the win.

BEDAZZLING was a different horse on nursery bow when a length 2nd at Newcastle. Another go off the same mark now upped in trip could see her land a deserved success. GEORGIA MADELIENE won her maiden well at Brighton in August and hasn’t been disgraced in 4th in both outings since.

DOCTOR MOZART has been coming to the boil nicely and his latest trip 2nd saw him beaten by just ¾ of a length. Another go off the same rating could see him duly compensated with an open account. WEDGEWOOD took a big step in the right direction when 3rd at Southwell over this trip. She can find herself thereabouts here.

Race 6 – Chelmsford Racecourse
RED WALLS went down by narrow margins twice before going up in grade and not being disgraced in 6th at Wolverhampton. A drop back to this level can see him build on those efforts. THANK THE LORD won with 3 in hand over C&D on penultimate outing before misfiring and beating none home off 9lb higher. That seems a bit too bad to be true so he’s given another chance.

FANTASTIC FOX made a pleasing return to racing when 2nd at Newbury over this trip, despite being 7 lengths back. With that to work from and improved fitness he can make a dent on Polytrack debut for Roger Varian. CHICHESTER is a danger having landed 2nd at Southwell latest and the return to 10f should do him plenty of favours off 1lb higher.

VAYNOR won with 5 in hand over slightly further at Southwell late last month and retains appeal despite being 8lb higher. He receives weight for age and could make an impressive double here. ACED IT could be a player on return from 266 days off. He was a fair 3rd at Newcastle when last seen and could make a dent off 1lb lower.

SHOW ME SHOW ME has to settle for 3rd at Leicester in the heavy going late last month. He can turn things around with the reopposing 1st SO SMART with a 10lb swing in his favour along with a return to the AW. SO SMART was denied his double by a head off 6lb higher and could hold on for dear life.
