COOLE WELL is 9lb better off after landing 3rd to the reopposing WEEBILL at Leicester latest. He is a likely improver who needed the outing for new connections following a length absence. WEEBILL won’t go down without a fight on hat trick bid for Olly Murphy but does have his work cut out.

Race 2 – Catterick Racecourse
BETTY BALOO struck the crossbar over 20f at Sedgefield on penultimate run and the form has taken a huge boost as the winner has struck again at G2 level since. She’s proven over this trip in the bumpers and is very deserving of a win over timber. BONNE VITESSE had 17 in hand when powering home at Wetherby over this run on penultimate outing. She wasn’t her best at Carlisle since but the drop in trip can do her well.

DA VINCI HAND is the pick of form at a course he does very well at. He’s under a 7lb penalty for an effortless 5+ length win here 8 days ago and the up in trip should do him well. SPOT ON SOPH has been beaten favourite in both post-maiden outings but now back over the C&D she opened the account she might be able to make some amends if accounting for the selection, no easy task.

Race 4 – Catterick Racecourse
MOON KING reached a 94 mark on the flat and looks to be a useful sort in the hurdle ranks. A couple of decent wins can be built on now tackling even further. Lily Pinchin takes a crucial 5lb off and the pair put forth quite the account. FLEXI FURLOUGH placed 7 times in a row before opening the account with a nice 6 in hand at Doncaster latest. A 5lb higher mark sees her quite capable of doubling down now running with the taste of success.

CHAMPAGNESUPEROVER has a mixed bag of results in 4 outings over timber but this looks as good an opening as Olly Murphy’s charge is going to get for an open chase account, now receiving weight from rivals. ASK A HONEY BEE is the clear danger as a winner at Chepstow but the swing at the weights is substantial, giving away 6lb won’t be ideal.

LUCKY LARA showed some promise in 4th on chase debut at Taunton back in January. Since 8th over timber and now making first start for Syd Hosie, she could make the most of new surrounds and the fitting of a tongue-tie in a race that won’t take much winning. ABSAINTE caught the eye at Musselburgh and was in the run for a score before unfortunately falling at the last. Pulled up since at Chepstow, a wind operation might get the final bit of improvement out of her.

TOUCAN SAM gained meaningful experience when 7th on debut at Huntingdon back in October. He put it to good work when 2 lengths 2nd at Warwick latest. The next step for Tom Lacey’s charge looks to be a deserved win on 3rd attempt. CAROLE’S PASS is a well-bred debutant out of a 2 time Listed winner over timber and has to be considered for Amy Murphy.
