GIT MAKER is a winner between the flags who made an impressive 4 length score on rules/hurdle bow at Chepstow last month. He could have plenty more to come despite weathering 7lb for the success. NETYWELL was a decent enough 4th on hurdle bow at Perth before sharpening nicely to find runner-up at Ayr.

Race 2 – Carlisle Racecourse
TO THE LIMIT took a while to leave the maidens but did so convincingly at Kelso latest. A further 4lb rise could see him double down now having tasted success. SLAINTE MHOR hasn’t been great of late but has been eased down to his last winning mark of 103 so could turn things around.

HOUSTON TEXAS caught the eye in 2nd at Newcastle in a chase on 2nd outing for Nicky Richards. The winner franked to form and we might see this lightly-raced 8 year old take the final step forward. MOROZOV COCKTAIL took a bit of a step backward when last seen at Wetherby. His prior effort saw him win well enough there to suggest he’s worth chancing again.

Race 4 – Carlisle Racecourse
ZABEEL CHAMPION is a useful flat performer who made a pleasing hurdling/yard debut for Jonjo O’Neill when scoring by a head at Leicester in November. He backed it up well enough when 2nd there since and could have plenty more to come in this sphere. MALPAS has been in decent heart since opening the account over C&D in October. His ¾ length 2nd at Catterick suggests he’ll he involved once more.

LADY TREMAINE won at Bangor-on-Dee on penultimate outing but failed to fire when 5th at Chepstow latest. She’s still looking capable of plenty more so could go well with Brian Hughes retaining the ride. FIADH could prove the danger still under penalty for a Newcastle score back in November.

RIBBLE VALLEY has proven a highly progressive sort who races well fresh. If he keeps that up after 436 days off he could take some serious beating in this 4 horse field. CORNERSTONE LAD is up 5lb for a decent chase win when refitted with cheekpieces at Wetherby last month. He could put more work in here if the selection doesn’t take to fences.

SUPREME GIFT is a winner between the flags in Ireland and has struck the crossbar in both bumper outings. He can put his experience to good work here, despite being beaten favourite both times. LANGDALE LANE is well-bred sort who should go well for Stuart Crawford, he should give a fair account on debut.
