MONSIEUR FANTAISIE has been consistent without winning since returning from a short rest and joining Archie Watson. A return to 6f off a 55 mark could be enough to return him to winning ways. LOUIS TREIZE won over C&D earlier in the year and is off 34lb lower now. He was last seen ¾ of a length 2nd over 5f here and could come out swinging for compensation.

NEVER DARK makes fair appeal having not been far beaten at Newcastle of late and is sitting a nice 10lb below his last winning mark. He could land a blow at this level for Ian Jardine. POCKLEY has been in fine form at Newcastle, placing a couple of times before scoring well enough. He had the selection downfield that day but is 7lb worse off so might have to settle for another minor prize.

Race 4 – Wolverhampton Racecourse
FAIRMAC demands respect off top weight following a head defeat into 2nd over slightly further at Chelmsford 3 weeks ago. He is down a bit in grade and could land the spoils off 1lb higher. PERCY JONES beat the selection at Brighton back in August but was demoted for interfering. He hasn’t been seen since but could make up for it now under the care of Mark Loughnane.

BACCARAT BABY has landed 2nd best in both outings to date but hasn’t been seen since May. This looks fairly winnable on paper and Rossa Ryan is a notable booking. WILTSHIRE didn’t take to the soft going on debut at Newbury but could make tremendous progress now tackling the Tapeta.

MOHATU was well-backed on debut over this trip at Newcastle but couldn’t go better than 6th. He can sharpen plenty for the outing and is worth chancing once more for Willie Haggas. OVERACTIVE makes appeal on debut for Ralph Beckett, sporting strong relations and any money going his way needs to be taken seriously.

COURT OF SESSION returned from a short rest to land a convincing success over the mile at Chelmsford 19 days ago. A 5lb rise can be weathered as he is given a bit more yardage once more. EXCEL POWER is likely to be in the mix following his own last start success over the mile at Lingfield. He is up 4lb and is well-drawn to strike.

INEXPLICABLE won over C&D back in early October and while not backing it up since, comes up against fairly moderate opposition. His rider takes 5lb off and sees him looking good for a return to the scoreboard. VIETESSE DU SON has been doing good work at this level and can find himself thereabouts. He did better than the raw result when 6th at Kempton and should be fitter for the outing.

JENNY REN came within ¾ of a length of the front when 3rd over C&D 22 days ago. Her rider’s 5lb claim sees her primed for an aggressive compensation bid. INTERNATIONAL LAW got home in style at Southwell and his rider’s claim removes the entire 5lb rise. He can make his case for the double and can land plenty of blows here.
