NOBLE ANTHEM is a useful sort from the flat who was a fair 3rd on hurdle bow at Musselburgh earlier in the month. He can come forward plenty for the experience under the watchful eye of Archie Watson. AGILULF is a fellow bronze medallist from his hurdle bow. He is similarly expected to develop but hadn’t shown much of anything on the flat.

Race 2 – Catterick Racecourse
CHECK MY PULSE has unlocked marked improvement since shifting back to fences, notching a good win over this trip at Carlisle when last seen in October. A 4lb hike is manageable and he should have plenty more to come. SNOWY CLOUDS was a fantastic 6+ length winner on chase bow at Market Rasen last month. He should be fitter for that outing and could challenge off 3lb higher.

ROYAL MOGUL made a strong impression when 2nd at Wetherby on comeback/yard debut for Donald McCain. He has since had a wind operation and now trying a tongue-tie can go one better in a moderate event. BOLD SOLDIER has shown ample promise in 3 runs to date and is of interest coming back from 307 days off and a wind operation of his own.

NOT WHAT IT SEEMS returned from 162 days off to land a hat trick by just a head at Wetherby. Another 3lb rise is fair and he can extend his unbeaten streak. LOCK’S CORNER has been doing good work in defeat in both codes and could find his way into the equation for Jonjo O’Neill.

LILITH won a nice valuable event at Punchestown back April before a wind operation and a fair comeback 3rd at Kempton 21 days ago should have dusted off the cobwebs. She can make her presence felt in a much more tepid event. UCANAVER was pulled up on chase bow at Kempton but has shown ample talent over timber. She is worth another chance but may struggle to account for her stablemate.

JOHNSON’S BLUE was far from disgraced in 4th at Aintree after coming back from several months off following a nice quartet. A 1lb drop aids his cause and he can bounce right back in a moderate affair. SALVINO opened the account by a neck at Kelso earlier in the month and warrants plenty of respect off 3lb higher.

TIPPERARY STAR made a pleasing impression when 3rd over slightly further at Aintree on debut last month. She can put the lesson to good work here. THATZA DAZZLER showed promise of his own in 5th at Chepstow on his debut and could be worth watching for the mighty Fergal O’Brien.
