CRAMBO notched a nice double at Huntingdon and makes plenty of appeal now making hurdle bow for Fergal O’Brien. He can defy an absence and make for a cross-code hat trick. HOLETOWN HERO was a fair 4th on hurdle bow following wind surgery and several months off. He should come forward for the outing.

Race 2 – Ascot Racecourse
SOLO won with 5 in hand at Sandown 12 days ago and can double down despite a 7lb penalty. He made all that day and a similar tactic could pay off for Paul Nicholls’ gelding. THUNDER ROCK is the danger having won his chase bow with gusto and has a shot at a hat trick off 7lb higher. He won with 7 in hand at Ayr over timber prior to that display.

MASTER CHEWY made a strong impression in 3rd on hurdle bow/comeback run at Chepstow late last month. With that under his belt he can go well in these ranks. KANDOO KID won on hurdle debut back in October 2021. He is proven effective after a long break and could notch his 3rd win straight under rules here.

Race 4 – Ascot Racecourse
FLEGMATIK was denied a hat trick when pulled up at Sandown when last seen in April. That trip was too much for him and he can make immediate amends now eased in trip for Dan Skelton. DO YOUR JOB found a nice double over fences earlier in the year and wasn’t disgraced in 6th on comeback urn. With the cobwebs gone and a recent wind surgery he could get right back into the swing of things.

CAT TIGER won over C&D back in January and hasn’t been disgraced in much stronger fields since. He returns from 225 days of and a wind operation and could pick up where he left off in ideal conditions. SMARTY WILD was in contention at Kempton back in February before falling. His prior form was strong and he could reproduce that standard on his first appearance since.

GET BACK GET BACK won with 5+ in hand in a conditional at Kempton 11 days ago. He gets to compete off the same mark and his rider has his full 7lb claim to work from. These conditions look ripe to shoot for a nice rapid-fire double. GIPSY DE CHOISEL learned to settle when scoring by 4+ at Warwick back in May. He could put the lessons to work if not in need of the outing.

THE QUESTIONER is a trip winner who has had to settle for narrow defeats into 2nd the last twice. A 3lb higher mark isn’t ideal but he can go well here off bottom weight. SPORTING ACE couldn’t secure a hat trick over a seemingly insufficient extended 21f at Exeter a fortnight ago. He could bounce right back here, having landed 2nd over this trip between the flags in Ireland.
