HOLOCENE is a debut winner who hasn’t been out of the money since. She was last seen 2nd at Nottingham when sent of favourite in August. The defeat was dampened when that rival went in to score again since and she can bounce right back here in first time cheekpieces. PRESENT MOMENT ran wide at Lingfield latest and was subsequently toppled by a short head. Another go off 1lb higher and a good draw can see her make a convincing bid.

Race 2 – Wolverhampton Racecourse
SILK BIRD was a fair 4th on debut at Thirsk in August and built on it nicely when a short head 2nd at Beverley. Another up in trip could be the key if she takes to the Tapeta. HAVANAZAM was a respectable 5th on debut at Kempton before also finding a narrow defeat into 2nd when upped in trip at Yarmouth. He wouldn’t be winning out of turn for Andrew Balding and David Probert.

WOOLHAMPTON makes significant appeal to exit the maiden ranks in what is on paper, her easiest task in quite some time. She has held her own at higher grades, including earning her black type when 3rd at Listed level at Newbury in August. AL DASIM made a good first start for George Boughey when 2nd on nursery bow at Haydock. He has ample potential and wasn’t far beaten in a Listed race in France in August.

LORY made significant improvement when 3rd at Thirsk a month ago after a wind operation. Another go off 5lb lower could see him deservedly open the account. GIDWA had traffic issues when 6th at Lingfield latest. He wasn’t far beaten and should be able to make amends off 1lb lower with David Probert taking the reins.

COUNTRY PYLE has come agonisingly close the last twice over 2m. A drop back in trip might be the key to get her back on the board for Muir & Grassick. NIGHT SPARKLE could be anything having shed the maiden tag over this trip at Haydock last month. A 4lb higher mark can see her remain competitive and even present a danger to her stablemate.

SHIBUYA SONG took to this trip range well when 2nd over 2m at Ffos Las late last month. Another go off 1lb higher with Tom Marquand taking the ride could be enough for her to notch a 2nd career success. Was a good 3rd at Haydock when upped in trip and could have even more for the extra 2 ½ furlongs today.
