ABOVE THE WORLD showed enough to work with before several months off. She needed the run when 5th on comeback at Vaal last month and should be able to put a foot forward now fighting fit. LEBANESE POUND had excuses when 5th on return from being gelded. He’s capable of leaving that behind him here.

BABY DONT HURT ME and TWICE AS WILD were almost neck and neck when 5th and 6th respectively over C&D at the end of July. TWICE AS WILD has accounted for the selection in the past and the pair are taken to renew their rivalry, making string exotic appeal.

BANHA BRIDGE hasn’t been faring as poorly as raw results suggest of late and he has to be taken seriously over this C&D. KOOL BAIKAL isn’t the most consistent type but his latest 9f 2nd here reads well and he’s capable if bringing the right mindset.

HIGH MOON needed the run when 7th on local/yard bow in mid-July. With that out of the way he can improve readily over a trip he has placed over thrice. ABOUT TO STORM got away too slowly to land a blow when beating none home over C&D back in May. He’s had time to rest and recover and is better judged on prior efforts.

DUKE OF SUSSEX has won his last couple by narrow margins and has a decent shot at a hat trick here. He has drawn pole position and should put forth a strong effort. VANDERBILT looks the foil to the selection, having won his own hat trick and has a 4 timer firm in the crosshair.

THAMBI was sent off favourite on debut over 6f here and obliged nicely. With that to work from, he heads up in class and looks capable of keeping the unbeaten streak alive. SILVER STARDUST landed 4th in a pipe-opener over the mile at Vaal on first run for Paul Peter. That was also his first outing as a gelding and he’s capable of massive improvement here.
