Race 2 – Fairview Racecourse
RHYTHM OF THE RAIN took a huge step backward when last seen 9th of 9 at Kenilworth in October. She had rattled the crossbar in all 3 outings prior. Now under the care of Alan Greeff, eyes are on her to return to the standard she set earlier. LILY OF ORANGE is worth a look on first outing since joining Gavin Smith, she comes down in trip and could find the missing piece of the puzzle.

MR LINEBREAKER isn’t the most consistent Gavin Smith charge but he has shown some decent efforts over C&D in the past. He’s the sort who can get somewhere with normal improvement and this might be the time to get it done. CHAMPAGNESOCIALIST showed his best effort to date when ½ a length 2nd over C&D when refitted with blinkers on 2nd outing since joining Sharon Kotzen. A similar effort can see him go one better.

Race 4 – Fairview Racecourse
SILVER SLIPPERS is in a good vein of form without actually winning, having found the frame the last 5 times running. She’s drawn wide but could have her consistency rewarded now tackling the mile again. SUGAR SNAP has finished behind the selection in the past but now out of barrier 2 might be able to land a blow of her own.

COFFEE BREAK is in top shape, backing up a narrow win over 7f here with a 2nd by a head. He’s unexposed over this surface but should still be one of the main players from pole position. CANE LIME ‘N SODA does his best work on this surface and has been in ripe shape since joining Gavin Smith. The drop in trip might see him add another score to his tally here.

Race 6 – Fairview Racecourse
COLORADO SPRINGS took a big step in the right direction when 2nd over 10f here after shedding the blinkers. A return to this trip could see her regain the winning thread for Alan Greeff. EVA EILEEN could be a threat to her stablemate as a trip winner making AW debut with Greg Cheyne an eye-catching booking.

Race 7 – Fairview Racecourse
IDEAL ANGEL has gradually regained her footing since joining Sharon Kotzen, culminating in a nice score over 10f on the turf here. Now the ball is rolling she might be able to build on the effort on return to the AW where she remains unexposed. SENESCENCE is out of form of late but her prior efforts were superb so she’s given some mercy here as it is far too soon to write off such a capable mare.

CELTILLUS is proving highly suited to this C&D for Alan Greeff and races well after a short break. He’s well-drawn and the one to beat here. JEAN’S MAN is of interest coming back to the surface where he’s done his best work since joining Juan Nel.
