Race 2 – Lingfield Racecourse
HACKBRIDGE and SMART CONNECTION have an ongoing rivalry, both getting the better of each other this year. The selection wasn’t given the clearest run that day and on 3lb better terms the form may well be reversed again. SMART CONNECTION remains quite capable of holding off the selection but does have some work to do to hold off all challenges.

CROWN POWER has found the frame the last 5 times on this surface, including the last thrice in cheekpieces. They’re retained here and off an unchanged 74 mark we could see her land a deserved victory after such consistency. QUEEN OF BURGUNDY had the selection ½ a length back in 3d when scoring at Wolverhampton latest and is likely to try confirm the form. She’s 4lb worse off and might be open to a riposte.

Race 4 – Lingfield Racecourse
THE DEFIANT is fresh off a narrow but nonetheless superb All-Weather hat trick. He’s up a further 4lb but can keep the momentum up in a very winnable contest over an ideal C&D. HEY HO LET’S GO switched to prominent tactics and was rewarded with a narrow C&D victory 14 days back. A similar effort today could see him double down off 3lb if able to account for the selection.

SHIBORI ran a belter when 2nd on debut over C&D back in December despite a slow start and going wide. She’s had plenty of time off since and this Gosden filly looks capable of going one better here now sharper. STUBBLE FIELD has demonstrated ample promise, going down by narrow margins in 2 of 3 outings. She’s likely to have more to come having matured, but doesn’t quite excite like the selection.

COOLAGH MAGIC is up 2lb for a pleasing enough 6f win here back in January but is no longer paired with Harry Davies and his 7lb claim. Terms of 9lb worse off aren’t ideal but he should benefit from the return to 7f and has conceded weight in victory here before. RAINBOW MIRAGE is up just 2lb for a pleasing C&D victory on penultimate start. Not disgraced in 4th here since, she’s capable of landing a blow with David Probert back in the irons.

WINNETKA enters under a 5lb penalty following a dominant 3+ length victory at Windsor 9 days ago. Winless on this surface, if he brings the form across he can notch a nice double with Mollie Phillips retaining the ride. SOYOUNIQUE is dangerous off an unchanged 63 following a short head 2nd over C&D 4 days ago. David Probert takes the ride and could make up the difference.
