Race 2 – Kenilworth Racecourse
CHARLIE MALONE was sent off at very short odds at Durbanville latest and was unlucky to be toppled by a clever debutante. Afforded another furlong he’s looking to find immediate compensation despite a less-than-ideal draw. MARVEL WILLIAM showed plenty to like in 4th on debut over 6f here and backed it up nicely when ½ a length 3rd 14 days ago. He should enter the equation as he sharpens up.

BOISTEROUS BUDDY isn’t the most consistent of players but has found small veins of form suggesting he is quite capable of leaving the maiden ranks. If he can tap some of that promise here he could have his way in a race that won’t take much winning. CASTLE TIME took a big step forward when 2 lengths 5th on yard bow for Brett Crawford over this trip at Durbanville. Expect further improvement to come.

Race 4 – Kenilworth Racecourse
FUTURISMO has improved with each run to date, especially when a length and three quarters 3rd when upped to the mile here latest. Another couple of furlongs might see William Nel’s colt land a deserved maiden victory. MAGIC MOMENTS was a respectable 5th over C&D in a similar affair before a couple of decent showings over the mile. A return to this trip can see her enter the equation.

DUBAI LIGHTS edged out a 9f win here by a head in January before a short break. He had to settle for ½ a length 3rd in a stronger contest at Durbanville over this trip since. The run will have done him good and he can get right back on top in these calmer waters. NIGHT SONG finished way back in last that day but had excuses. Considering 3 of his 4 wins have come over C&D he warrants respect in ideal surrounds.

Race 6 – Kenilworth Racecourse
DOUBLE CHARGE returns from a short spell to line up for a hat trick under penalty. He has been in rude health since late 2021 and could take plenty of beating, with Greg Cheyne a very adequate substitute for Grant Van Niekerk. TOUT A FAIT is paired with the selection’s former rider and is in decent shape. He’s C&D suited but does come up in grade so will need to improve in line.

KALAHARI FERRARI had lost his way somewhat this year until a recent 2nd over slightly shorter here indicated a return to form may be imminent. If he can build on it with a bit of extra yardage afforded, he’s a serious chance. SURJAY hinted at a return to winning ways when 2nd on yard bow for Brett Crawford. His cause is aided greatly as he goes back over his sole winning C&D.

MISS GREENLIGHT opened the account over 6f here latest by a respectable 2+ lengths when sent off at odds on. She’s interesting being dropped to 5f but is an improving sort who could be up to task. NIPPY WINTER is in good form of late and does enjoy the straight finish here, with 2 wins and 7 placings from 11 outings here.
