MOKAATIL won nicely in the Dash here back in June and enters today off 4lb lower than his last win in August. Harry Davies takes a further 7lb off and Ian Williams’ gelding should be having his peak run here as he is refitted with the tongue-tie and visor. NELSON GAY strikes as the sort who could find further improvement now a 4 year old. He’s likely to need the run here but could still get involved at the finish.

Race 2 – Epsom Downs Racecourse
NAHANNI caught the eye when ½ a length 2nd on debut at Kempton. He backed it up when home over the same track and trip the next month. Shifted to turf since, he secured the double with a huge 9 in hand at Leicester. A drop in trip on hat-trick bid might see this colt too good for last year’s winning connections. UNITED NATIONS won well on debut before being sent off in the Autumn Stakes. A very respectable 7th sees him a fair contender, especially up in trip but he’ll do very well to account for the selection.

Race 3 – Epsom Downs Racecourse
ACHELOIS had a very strong 2021, landing three wins in 8 appearances. She capped it off with some solid efforts in 4th, including at Listed level when last seen at Doncaster. She’s fancied to make an impactful comeback as a 4 year old who should have plenty more scope. ARENAS DEL TIEMPO is respected as a C&D winner returning from a couple of placings on the AW to a course that can reward her front-running style.

Race 4 – Epsom Downs Racecourse
KINGS PRINCE was touched off by a short head on comeback run at Leicester over this trip at the start of this month. Hollie Doyle retains the ride and the pair are looking fairly placed for compensation off 3lb higher over a course than favours a prominent runner. GOING GONE demands respect as a C&D winner last seen victorious over this trip at HQ. He’s proven after a spell and could offer plenty of resistance.

Race 5 – Epsom Downs Racecourse
LATER DARLING is bred for this sort of trip and is fancied to go one better than his AW 2nd over 7f at Kempton back in November. ELENA’S GIFT could fire up for Ralph Beckett after a mediocre 6th on debut at Leicester. This isn’t the strongest field and she could feasibly find a placing with normal improvement.

Race 6 – Epsom Downs Racecourse
NEW PURSUIT made a strong first impression when victorious here over 7f on debut back in July. He hasn’t exactly been able to build on it in 3 subsequent outings but has nonetheless not been disgraced. He could have his way on comeback run off an 8 mark with his rider removing 7lb. SPY is respected having opened the account over this trip at Wolverhampton after some promising efforts late last year. If he brings the standard over to turf he can offer the selection a coherent resistance for Mark Johnston.
