She has been holding her own at Listed level of late and this drop in class can see her get a nice confidence boost while defending the yard’s title. TWILIGHT GLORY has shown promise between the flags and could make a bit of a splash on rules debut for Tim Vaughan.

Race 2 – Chepstow Racecourse
AUENWIRBEL can pounce off bottom weight after finding the frame the last twice in these ranks. The 87 mark definitely underestimates this 11 year old. RED LION LAD is a winner between the flags who did show some promise in these ranks before a couple of fruitless chase efforts. A return could foster enough improvement from David Pipe’s charge.

Race 3 – Chepstow Racecourse
MONBEG LANE was a dominant winner between the flags and now making rules debut for Tim Vaughan gets a big nod to follow up if he can bring that standard to timber. HAURAKI GULF has to be considered off the back off a surprise debut win at 50/1 in a Warwick bumper in December. He could prove a useful operator in the hurdle ranks.

Race 4 – Chepstow Racecourse
FRENCHY DU LARGE had a powerful lead of 5 lengths when scoring at Uttoxeter on 2nd chase start. With that under his belt he can outrun a 9lb hike for the powerful Venetia Williams string. EDEN DU HOUX won with some authority in November at Ffos Las and does pull up well fresh so could offer plenty of resistance.

Race 5 – Chepstow Racecourse
BELLATRIXSA looks to be well-treated off a mark of 118 on handicap bow after a fairly promising 2021 that saw her land a couple of pleasing victories over these obstacles. INVESTMENT MANAGER misfired when last seen at Exeter but his prior hurdle form is good and he can bounce back in a small field.

Race 6 – Chepstow Racecourse
BARDEN BELLA went down by ½ a length when 2nd at Ffos Las back in October and gained deserved compensation when home by 8 lengths at Fakenham on New Year’s Day. She’s up 8lb for the effort but a similar performance can see a nice double. LEVEROCK LASS has placed in her last couple of outings and is trip-suited, she can remain consistent off a 2lb lower perch.

Race 7 – Chepstow Racecourse
BREIZH ALKO couldn’t land a blow on comeback over a similar trip at Lingfield on chase/yard bow for the Keighley team. That was his first outing in 994 days so we could just put it down to rustiness. He can pounce off a 100 mark if he’s fit and fresh this time around, now back over timber. ADVANTURA took a step forward when 4th at Exeter latest and now going handicapping off an 87 mark could continue to progress.

Race 8 – Chepstow Racecourse
AFTER THE FOX suggested a post-maiden win was imminent when ¾ of a length 2nd at Bangor-on-Dee in December. He was doing well at Doncaster when upped to 3m but weakened late. Now dropped back in trip he has every chance of getting back to business. SHUTTHEGATE was nothing special for his first 10 outings before coming back at the end of 2021 to tear it up by 7+ lengths at Warwick. Handed an 8lb hike for the effort we could see plenty more, now the penny has dropped.
