AUSTEN has been turned over as favourite a couple of times but has still posted solid efforts in defeat. The drop back to 5f can aid her cause as she has weakened late a handful of times. YATA came within a length and a quarter of the front in 6th on debut over C&D and was denied by just ½ a length over the turf here when upped to 6f. She can make up for it here.

Race 2 – Greyville Racecourse
HOPE IS POWER is respected having won over this trip on debut at Vaal and should take well to the Polytrack. He might need the run after an absence but is more than capable of putting forth a compelling bid. PRAY FOR RAIN ran a belter on his sole start over this surface, conveniently over C&D. Last seen beating none home at Scottsville we can put a line through that effort and see this Drier gelding bounce back.

SHAKEN NOT STIRRED came forward nicely when 3rd after being returned to C&D. She is well-drawn and can take another step here. ZURI’S STAR posted a couple of fair efforts in defeat before taking a few months off. She has scope for improvement and is likely to have spent the break productively.

Race 4 – Greyville Racecourse
NOT NOW PUSSYCAT was toppled as favourite when 5th from a shocking draw over CD back in October. She can make immediate amends now launching from pole position. KISSING BOOTH has been mediocre of late but a change of surrounds and a new yard as she tackles the Poly for the first time might see a new filly.

Race 5 – Greyville Racecourse
PRINCESS MARNE posted a much-improved 5th over 7f here latest and looks primed to take another step forward as she tackles the extended mile from the best of the barriers. NAME OF THE GAME has improved markedly since making the trip here for Dean Kannemeyer. A close-up 4th on local bow she was a good 2nd since after a wide draw left her with too much to do. She has barrier 2 and can make her challenge.

Race 6 – Greyville Racecourse
ORANGE BOWL has shown herself suited for the Poly in her 2 outings here since winning her maiden at Fairview on first attempt at this surface. Last seen a length 3rd she has her chance to launch from barrier one and should go well. MONTFORT failed to fire over turf latest but had posted some strong efforts here including a narrow defeat into 2nd over slightly shorter on penultimate outing.

DINETTO has best of the draws and has been sharpening up of late in these surrounds. Expect a compelling bid from Mark Dixon’s charge. PHILISPIEL took a step forward when 4th on the turf here latest. He is getting better as he goes and could progress further on this surface.

RUNNING FREELY has struck a nice pocket of form of late and has kept it up with a ½ length 2nd on yard bow for Gary Rich over C&D. He has a decent draw and should be right amongst it again. MOVIE MAGIC slid down the handicaps before firing up to come close when 2nd over C&D.
