ANNIE MAHER was well-backed on debut at Ascot in May but could only manage to hold on for 2nd. With that under her belt and a recent wind operation, she looks capable of going one better. MRS U S A has struck the crossbar in both runs to date and warrants plenty of respect now paired with William Buick.

AUTUMN FESTIVAL went down by a neck over slightly further at Beverley 8 days ago. Off the same mark and with William Buick taking the ride, compensation looks a very real possibility. REVERSION is a local winner who fared much better than the raw result when 5th at Newbury latest.

Race 4 – Sandown Racecourse
ROGUE ROCKET got the account open readily when sent off handicapping at Salisbury. A further 7lb rise may prove troublesome but he’s able to benefit from his rider’s full 7lb claim today. COLOUR IMAGE fought hard to score by a short head at Bath at the end of June. A 3lb rise is workable as he reunites with Tom Marquand.

COSMIC DESERT has been very costly to follow for favourite backers but still represents the best option here. A bump back up in trip at this course can see him get a deserved victory with William Buick back in the saddle. DAL MALLART was an effortless victor at Haydock over this trip and warrants plenty of respect now upped 9lb.

HAPPY is a consistent sort who is often involved in the finish. He was last seen 4th over C&D and off 1lb lower can put forth an effort strong enough to see him have leading claims. SOVEREIGN DUKE should be fighting fit for a comeback run at Salisbury in late May.
