GREG THE GREAT has been in good shape for most of the year, winning thrice in 6 starts. Last seen late out of the gate, he managed to salvage the run with a 3rd place, despite weakening late. He can bounce back off the same mark here. CHIEF’S WILL is Archie Watson’s hand in this, he trained last year’s winner, who was also ridden by Hollie Doyle. He need the run when 8th after gelding and can make leaps and bounds here.

Race 2 – Lingfield Racecourse
FIELD OF HONOUR benefitted from a shift to prominent tactics when a 2 length winner at Brighton. Another similar effort could see him rewarded with a double, with the tongue-tie retained. GEORGE MORLAND edged out a narrow success on first start since re-joining Amy Murphy. A 2lb hike is workable and he’s respected coming back up in trip.

ROSE LIGHT missed the jump on debut at Goodwood but seemed to gain meaningful experience. KHASMSIM LADY cannot be ignored having been beaten into 2nd by ¾ of a length over C&D. She has very real compensation claims to press from a good draw.

REBEL REDEMPTION reopened the account by a neck at Wolverhampton last month. A 1lb higher mark can see him remain competitive now he has retraced the winning thread. SWISS PRIDE is a useful sort who has posted plenty of fair efforts of late but will have to work hard to overcome the widest of the draws.

PRINCEVILLE started his career with a ¾ length 2nd at Yarmouth before returning and winning by that exact margin in a textbook compensation bid. He was far from disgraced in 2nd at Wolverhampton since and should have plenty of scope now making nursery debut off a slightly high 86 mark. SONG OF SUCCESS is respected down in grade following a struggle in the G3 Dick Poole at Salisbury. This is a very reachable prize from an opening 79 mark.

SAXON VILLAGE is a well-bred sort who has shown his best to date over the Polytrack. Now going handicapping of a 65 mark he can build on those efforts, with the drop in trip tipped to help temper his keenness. STREET PARADE is a reliable sort who has found the frame 6 times in his last 8 starts, including a win at Brighton.

DUBAI LEADER gives away weight all round following a 2nd start win at Windsor when upped to this trip in May. Rested since, if he doesn’t need the run he can double up despite the wide draw. BELIEVE IN STARS will have learned plenty when 6th on debut at Nottingham over this trip. Sir Michael Stoute’s charge can sharpen up enough to be a leader contender.

NAASMA showed huge improvement when ½ a length 3rd on first start/handicap bow for team Phelan. An unchanged 60 mark and a return to 10f could be the ticket. EURAQUILO is hit and miss but on a good day is as good as any of these. His latest trip 2nd by ¾ of a length hints he may well show up today.
