SAARTJIE made a splash on debut when ¾ of a length 2nd over 6f here in October. She backed it up well enough in 4th when upped in trip and can finish the job now tackling the mile. ILHA DE MAURICIA hasn’t been far beaten despite landing 7th in both outings to date. She’s bred for this kind of trip and spring forward.

SHANTASTIC is a debut winner who has since recaptured that standard with a C&D success here last month. She can make a competitive bid under penalty in a similar event. RED SASH was back in 6th to the selection that day but can bridge the gap now on much better terms at the weights.

RUN FOR COVER started well with a 3rd at Turffontein in July before going one better when upped to this trip there. He then opened the account at Vaal last month with a nice 3 in hand. He’s headed in the right direction and could have a big run in him from pole positon. BLACKBERRY MALT went down by a neck at Durbanville over this trip in October before landing 7th over C&D, just a length and a half from the front. He has slid down the ratings and a similar sowing could see him compensated.

Race 4 – Kenilworth Racecourse
SELUKWE went down by a nose on penultimate outing over C&D. He had to settle for 3rd when upped to 10f here but was far from disgraced. He can make a solid effort now dropped back to the mile. Improved between starts to land 2nd over this trip at Fairview in late October. Normal improvement can see him crack into the frame once more.

DESTINED TO DANCE was a good 2nd at 33/1 odds over the mile here late last month. That was her best to date and from a much better draw we could see her land the spoils. GRANDI ORECCHIE was a fair 5th on local debut. She showed good staying ability and from an improved draw can come forward nicely.

ROYAL AUSSIE has 2 wins and 3 placings from 5 starts and has demonstrated strong speed. He can benefit from a drop back to 6f as he seeks to add to his already strong tally. PROUD MASTER is a useful sort from Kwa-Zulu Natal and made a strong local debut in 3rd here last month. He can bring home some plunder if he can overcome the wide draw.

CHEEKY LADDIE won over this trip on debut and hasn’t been far beaten since. Last sighted a short head 2nd over C&D, he can gain due compensation from a slightly better draw. QUANDARY won his maiden with authority over C&D a month ago but was plunged right into a Listed sprint here which he couldn’t’ land a blow in. He can bounce right back to contention now eased in grade and going handicapping.

GOLD POKER GAME has 2 wins and 2 placings from her 4 starts to date and shows no signs of slowing down. Another up in trip could pay immediate dividends for this well-bred filly. LADY SILVANO was under 3 lengths back in 5th when they met over the mile here in November. She has a swing at the weights and could crack into that margin and earn some minor money.
