TRUSTY SCOUT gets the vote to double down after making all at Hamilton over 9f. The extra furlong can help him weather the penalty. THE BRAVEST is respected off the back of a couple of hurdle efforts and could find improvement on the flat but is outclassed by the selection in this 4 horse event.

IRISH LEGEND has landed in the money in both runs post-gelding and should be able to press his leading claims over an ideal trip. WESTERN ALLIANCE looks to be a promising sort for Clive Cox, not landing outside the frame in 4 runs including an extended mile win at Nottingham on 2nd start. He has good scope and should be in the mix.

Race 4 – Leicester Racecourse
LINE OF DESCENT struggled to see out the full 14f at Musselburgh but still found 2nd by a length. Back down in trip off a 1lb higher mark he can get back on the scoreboard. HEY TEACHER landed a couple of useful wins in August and is respected on hat trick bid. All his wins have come over this trip and he can give the selection plenty of resistance.

BLUE DE VEGA gets the nod off a mark 1lb higher than his Doncaster win back in August. His last couple of efforts over this trip have been decent and he has the capable ride of Tom Marquand. READY FREDDIE GO notched a nice trip double at Thirsk before being toppled at Haydock latest. He seemingly unlocked a lot from being fitted with cheekpieces and he should have more to come.

DEPUTY has won 2 of his last 3 and the latest 2lb hike is nothing to worry about, this improving sort looks too good for this lot with the hood unlocking serious improvement. DONYA showed her best yet when 2nd by just a nose at Chelmsford latest and she should be on the scene once more.

SOME NIGHTMARE is down in grade after a nice Goodwood score, for which he was handed a modest 2lb rise. He is lining up for a hat trick and things look good for him. CAPE COLUMBUS is respected on handicap bow after finding bronze in all 3 runs to date and the 69 mark looks very lenient indeed.

Race 8 – Leicester Racecourse
FINERY outran 40/1 odds to win convincingly over the mile here late last month. The Michael Appleby string are in fine form of late and Erika Parkinson retains the ride. These two can double up under a 4lb rise. JOHN CLARE took this event out last year off a mark of 67 and defends his title off a 1lb lower perch. He hasn’t had a win since but is respected but looks a bit past it.
