Race 2 – Pontefract Racecourse
EVERYDAY has improved with each run and the merit of his 5th over 7f at Salisbury suggest the mile will do this Royal runner well, especially with Rossa Ryan taking the ride on nursery bow. COWBOY was a strong 3rd at Yarmouth latest and is respected on his own nursery debut.

WESTOVER opened the account nicely on debut at Sandown and he went well when 2nd at conditions level on return to the track. He went too hard there and a large field here can help him settle. THUNDER MAX was another strong debut winner and should benefit from the extra run as he sharpens further.

STAG HORN failed to fire when last sighted across the Channel but is respected here as he won this race last year. He is the defending champion and has every right to make amends at the same time. HERE AND NOW looks dangerous off recent form but his suitability for this trip is taken purely on trust.

ARCTIC EMPEROR didn’t take to the track at Epsom latest but a return to 10f along with first-time cheekpieces can guide him back into winning ways. SUDONA is dangerous off the back of her well-earned Beverley victory and could have more to come over a C&D she is 1 from 2 over.

MAYELF suggested a comeback might be in order when 4th over C&D latest. He remains unexposed over sprint trips so could have more to come off a nice 2lb drop in ratings. CAPE COLUMBUS found 3rd in his first 3 runs before going handicapping and finding 5th. He fared better than the raw result and could have more to come in these ranks off a 1lb lower mark with Rossa Ryan taking the ride.
