STAGE STAR was an impressive winner on hurdle bow at Chepstow last month and a similar showing will be hard to peg back here. UNASNWERED PRAYERS finished 1st but was declared 2nd after the race and could do his best to make amends here.

Race 2 – Newbury Racecourse
MILLERS BANK showed his best yet when 3rd in the Aintree Hurdle to cap off last season. He came back in style when opening the account on chase bow at Huntingdon last month. This is a tough task but he has the scope and needs to be respected. PIC D’ORHY didn’t have much luck last season but seems to have shaken it off when scoring nicely at Ffos Las on comeback run last month

Race 3 – Newbury Racecourse
JONBON won between the flags in Ireland last year and was picked up by Nicky Henderson. He proved a good recruit when scoring effortlessly in a local bumper back in March. He is back at it and can keep his unbeaten streak alive. GOOD RISK AT ALL could throw down the gauntlet, he won twice at Listed level in the bumpers and was a pleasing 2nd on hurdle bow despite being beaten favourite.

Race 4 – Newbury Racecourse
BOOTHILL is a promising sort who build on a couple of 2nds in the pointers to win well on bumper and hurdle debuts. Since seen 3rd at Listed level on comeback he looks primed for success in the chase ranks. FIFTY BALL can improve on a decent 3rd on chase bow and was a very exciting hurdler last year.

Race 5 – Newbury Racecourse
FANION D’ESTRUVAL should be fighting fit to take this one on after a comeback 4th behind some strong rivals at G2 Level at Aintree. He is rated 151 for a reason and should prove a tough runner. PHOENIX WAY won on chase bow by a neck and hasn’t been disgraced since. He remains lightly raced in this sphere and could come hard now back from a wind operation.

Race 6 – Newbury Racecourse
PAISLEY PARK should strip fit after a respectable 3rd on comeback run at this level at Wetherby at the end of October. He is a C&D winner who should come forward once more now sporting first-time cheekpieces. INDEFATIGABLE took out the aforementioned event at Wetherby and has an exciting cross-code hat trick on the line. She is 6lb worse off but can still press her claims.

DOLPHIN SQUARE was a ½ length 2nd on comeback run at Lingfield earlier this month. Off the same mark here he can go one better. CERTAINLY RED won well at Chepstow last time and could have more to come off a normal 6lb hike.
