HOMELY GIRL has been doing decent work in defeat and makes plenty of appeal out of barrier 2 with a 9lb claimer aboard. HOLLYWOODBOUND won on return from a couple months off and backed it up well enough in 2nd at Turffontein when dropped to this trio. She can remain competitive from a decent draw.

EFFICIENT TRADER was not much of anything when misfiring in 9th at Turffontein latest. She found a good 2nd here on penultimate start and could recover to that standard. She is well-drawn and has 9lb taken off so she’s worth chancing. SKY VELOCITY has been a progressive sort for the Van Vuuren team and looks good following a 2nd over C&D last month. She has the best of the draws and can come out swinging.

BOWL FIRST showed plenty to like when 3rd on debut over 5f at Turffontein last month. With that under his belt he can go much better now afforded another couple of furlongs. PEMBROKE showed ample potential in 6th on debut over C&D and can put the lessons to work here.

CAPE BOUQUET got home with authority when scoring with 2+ in hand over 14f here last week and shouldn’t be troubled by the return to 12f under penalty. FLAG BEARER is a fellow last start who left a lasting impression when outrunning 12/1 odds over 10f here late last month. He would not be winning out of turn in this field.

MUNCHKIN kicked things off well when ½ a length 2nd on debut over this trip at Turffontein. He returned there not long after and went one better with a nice 2+ length lead. He can continue his ascendancy here. GOLDEN PROSPECT has shown plenty to like, including a debut win in April. He hasn’t backed it up but hasn’t been disgraced either. He hasn’t been seen since July and might need the run but still could prove useful.

CALL THE WIND has shown bits and piece of potential without actually cracking into the frame. She could make a run of this now out of barrier 1 and tackling the 9f for the first time. DARK TRAVEL has a habit of giving away early leads but if she gets it right she can land a blow.

PLAYER returned from a couple months off to notch a double by jut a nose over C&D. He can shoot for a successful hat trick now race fit. WONDERING STAR has his moments and did win his maiden over C&D. He hasn’t been too far from it of later and can enter the equation.

EYE OF THE PROPHET has won 2 of his last 3, with the wins separated by an agonising nose defeat over C&D. He can add to his tally here and confirm supremacy over some reopposing rivals. DUKE OF RAIN was 4th to the selection here latest and has a bit more freedom at the weights to make his play.
