COOLAGH MAGIC took out an apprentice handicap by a nose at Lingfield 4 days ago. He gets to line up off the same mark and can strike while the iron is hot to land a nice double for Robyn Brisland. CLEAR ANGEL could find further improvement for a drop in trip now going handicapping off a workable 52 mark.

BERNARD SPIERPOINT has won his last 2 over this trip, including a dead-heat at Wolverhampton 11 days ago. He can gun for a nice hat trick if the turnabout isn’t too rapid. YOU’RE COOL was last seen 3rd here a week ago and off the back of that this 10 year old could retrace the winning thread.

Race 4 – Southwell Racecourse
BEYOND BOUNDARIES weakened late when sent off at Listed level over 14f at Chepstow on debut on New Year’s Day. With that experience to work from and the benefit of 2f less run he could make a big effort for Andrew Balding. NEEDLE LACE wasn’t terribly impressive in 8th on debut in France but after 432 days and a shift to the care of George Boughey we could see her live up to her esteemed pedigree.

CARAUSIUS has won his last couple of C&D with plenty in hand and the latest 6lb hike looks unlikely to anchor him from securing a wonderful C&D hat trick. BRISTOL HILL is interesting making UK/yard debut for the in-form Ivan Furtado after some useful efforts across the Channel.

MOHAREB is respected having won here over 6f latest and the extra furlong should present no issue under a manageable 5lb penalty.
