COSTLY DIAMOND was tracking well for a possible win when unseating Brian Hughes 10 days ago at Bangor-on-Dee. The pair are reunited and can make up for the mishap immediately over an ideal C&D. ARMATTIEKAN is very dangerous coming down in class having won or placed in his last 6 outings in this sphere.

THE NAVIGATOR held off a better line-up when home with 2 in hand over a very similar trip at Musselburgh. A 6lb higher mark can see him double down in somewhat calmer waters. SPIRITOFTHENORTH deserves a mention off the back of a dominant 32 length victory at Wetherby latest. He’s likely to have more to come for Kevin Ryan despite attracting a 9lb hike.

Race 4 – Sedgefield Racecourse
NIETZSCHE was a very credible 3rd at Listed level at Ayr at the start of the month. Off 1lb lower and paired with Jack Andrews and his 5lb claim once more he should be primed to put that experience to good work back in the handicaps. ROAD WARRIOR had to be pulled up after a misfire at Carlisle latest but his prior form sees him in a spot for a likely recovery, especially dropped 2lb.

DIS DONC showed real grit to edge out a ¾ length victory at 10/1 over at Wetherby at the end of March. He is able to launch off an unchanged 101 mark and looks to have found a nice opening for a double bid. THATBEATSBANAGHER hasn’t been able to back up a narrow 27f victory here in February but off just 3lb higher he’s off a very winnable perch over a trip he’s won thrice over.

HURRICANE DYLAN has been threatening a win of late in similar sorts of fields. He’s up 2lb for a Stratford 2nd but his consistency may be rewarded here. FIGHTFORTHEROSES won off 2lb lower back in January here over 20f. He has fallen backward somewhat since but his latest 4th suggested he is headed back in the right direction.

MONBEG CHIT CHAT had excuses when pulled up at Cheltenham a month back. He’s a winner between the flags recently and looks the type who can leave that in the past and get a confidence boost in very calm waters. GLOBAL RACING has been unlucky, unseating his rider in both outings since joining the Cookson yard. He’s got some talent and this 9 year old isn’t worth writing off just yet.

IMPERIAL MERLIN was an eye-catching 2nd to a very short priced favourite at Wetherby in March. With that spin under his belt and no rival as highly regarded he should be able to go one better. CAN’TSMILEWITHOUTYOU has some useful relations and is worth a closer look on debut for Richard Spencer.
