Race 2 – Perth Racecourse
JETAWAY JOEY makes strong appeal now down in class after a fairly respectable 5th at Uttoxeter last month. He’s a C&D winner who is also dropped 1lb for the effort. LIMERICK LEADER is the clear danger off the back of a determined victory at Kelso latest. He heads into the handicaps off a workable 109 mark.

GARDEFORT is past his prime at 13 years old but demands respect as the runner-up in the Grand Annual way back in the Cheltenham Festival 2017. He showed a bit of his old ways when 2nd at Ludlow after close to a year off and a similar sort of performance could be enough in an event that won’t take a lot of winning. THOMAS TODD is the defending champion from 2021 and is likely to put up a stiff resistance if not in need of the outing after 268 days off.

Race 4 – Perth Racecourse
NO RISK DES FLOS has won the last twice at Wetherby by just a neck. A further 3lb hike sees him just 5lb higher than the beginning of this streak. Olly Murphy’s grey looks capable of landing a nice hat trick as he pulls up well after a break. WEST TO THE BRIDGE is the obvious challenger as he lines up for a huge 5 streak. A shift to prominent tactics has paid off and now fitted with cheekpieces he’s expect to find even more. He’s up another 3lb but is reunited with Harry Skelton so could prove too good.

ALNADAM was last sighted 2nd of 3 at Warwick in February and has since reverted to his last winning mark of 137. He’s fitted with first-time cheekpieces and could improve enough to claim this one. COACH CARTER has struck the crossbar the last twice this month and off the same 135 as his last effort he’s expected to be in the mix once more.

BOSS MAN FRED relished the return to a longer trip when home at Warwick and looks primed to double up as he tackles even more yardage for the Skeltons off just 4lb higher. ARTUHR’S SEAT showed some aptitude for this trip range when 3rd after being upped to 3m at Newbury at the start of the month. He’s fancied to find further progression here.

WELL PLANTED outran 25/1 odds to score with determination at Musselburgh over slightly shorter late last month. A 3lb hike feels fair and he’s capable of delivering here and may attract stronger market support on return to the handicaps. SNOWY CLOUDS is a winner between the flags who looks set to work his way out of the maiden ranks sooner rather than later for Nicky Richards.

MALANGEN took a fair step forward when 3rd at Kelso latest after a needed comeback 10th at Carlisle. He’s off top weight and well due another score so could put another food forward. JACK YEATS is a useful enough hurdler to get a nod, he’s given us glimpses of promise and could tap into it here with cheekpieces seeming to aid his cause.
