PASPALEY fired up late to find 3rd on debut at Newcastle a fortnight back. A similar effort now paired with Tom Marquand can see him shed the tag on 2nd attempt, if taking to turf. TRILBY has lots of speedy operators in his bloodline and is well-worth watching on debut for George Boughey.

PEONY caught the eye when 2nd on debut at 22/1 odds at Salisbury. She can go one better for that outing if she doesn’t mind the going. WYOMING is a debut winner who demands respect heading up in class already.

STRAWERRY BELLE did her best work in the final furlong when 4th at Newmarket latest. She seems to be hinting at a need for more yardage and is obliged today. THE PARENT is interesting dropped back in trip after securing a maiden success by a neck when upped to the mile at Goodwood.

HIGHBANK was a superb debut winner at Newmarket in July, getting home with 3+ lengths in hand, with the form taking multiple boosts since. Ryan Moore takes the ride and he looks hard to oppose in a 4 horse race. CLASSIC looks best placed to chase him home for Richard Hannon. A last start winner at Newmarket, he could have more to come now up in grade.

Race 6 – Newbury Racecourse
SACRED has held her own at top levels and gets the vote to return to winning ways here. Tom Marquand is a steady presence in the saddle and the pair should be able to weather anything the opposition can level against them. JUMBY is respected as the winner of the G2 Hungerford over C&D on penultimate outing. He didn’t land a blow in the City of York but could be anything back here and down in grade.

MAHRAJAAN wasn’t able to get into gear fully when 3rd in first-time cheekpieces in a valuable York handicap last month. A smaller field and better draw can see him go a couple better in calmer waters. KNIGHT OF HONOUR is respected on prior form but needs to leave his lacklustre Sandown in the past.

ASCENDING was a good winner over the mile at Goodwood on penultimate start. He had to settle for 4th at Sandown since but was far from disgraced there. A stiffer test of stamina from today’s 10f could be key to getting him back on the board. VEE SIGHT is a danger eased in grade following some respectable efforts in defeat following her convincing maiden win at Sandown.
