POKER MASTER romped home with 7 in hand over 2m at Huntingdon last week. He was out of handicap then so the 7lb penalty actually equates to a 3lb rise in real terms. He should be able to double up off this perch. GOOD IMPRESSION has lived up to his name and won his last couple in style. He has a strong chance for the hat trick on yard bow for the Llewellyn team but will have to topple the selection.

Race 2 – Ludlow Racecourse
KNICKERBOCKERGLORY tore it up with 15 in hand on penultimate outing at Taunton. He was a decent 3rd when upped to handicap level at Wincanton with the winner going to frank the form handsomely at G2 level. This Skelton charge looks hard to beat on these terms. HIDOR DE BERSY is the danger of the field off the back of a decent Fakenham win on New Year’s Day over this trip.

KARL PHILIPPE has proven a shrewd recruit to the chasing ranks, landing the spoils over C&D on 3rd attempt over fences. He represents the mighty Fergal O’Brien yard and can double down off 6lb higher with Paddy Brennan retaining the ride. BARBADOS BLUE looks like an interesting runner in this 4 horse event after failing to tackle soft conditions latest when pulled up at Huntingdon. She can handle a bit of cut in the ground so if things stay on the good side she could fire up with Nico de Boinville in the plate.

Race 4 – Ludlow Racecourse
WYNN HOUSE was a decent staying 4th at Cheltenham back in December off the back of a narrow Wincanton score in November. A 1lb lower mark, drop in grade and a few months off could see her go well with Tom Cannon once more in the saddle. GLIMPSE OF GALA has been a reliable performer of late, not finishing outside the top 3 in the 4 hurdle outings she has completed. A 7lb claimer in the saddle could see her plenty dangerous.

Race 5 – Ludlow Racecourse
HEAD TO THE STARS has won the last two iterations of this contest, albeit by narrow margins. He demands respect as the defending champion as he comes down from a fairly decent 6th in the Classic Chase at G3 level at Warwick in January. GOLDEN WHISKY is a wildcard as he comes up in trip, he’s a capable performer, especially here so does warrant serious consideration.

Race 6 – Ludlow Racecourse
PICANHA was nothing special in 4th in a 6 horse field at G2 level in the Classic Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham in January. The experience will have done him some good and he can bounce back over the trip he won his maiden over at Warwick in December now handicapping off a mark of 124. BALKEO rattled the crossbar a couple of times in France before making a pleasing impression UK/Yard debut for Nicky Henderson in 3rd at Sandown last month. He’s likely to come forward now handicapping off a 120 mark.

Race 7 – Ludlow Racecourse
NOT THAT FUISSE was still somewhat in contention when brought down 5 out over C&D latest. That was coming off the back of a solid 3rd here and he’s fancied to bounce back for Dan Skelton and break a dry streak. GIVE ME A COPPER made a pleasing yard bow in 3rd for the Barber yard at Warwick latest and looks to have more to come in the new surrounds.
