BE HOPEFUL gets the nod on debut for Justin Snaith as a well-bred filly who may need further in the future but can come out swinging today. ALLENDE was a fair 4th on debut and sharpened nicely when 2nd since over C&D. She will be right amongst it again and could fire if the selection proves too green.

Race 2 – Durbanville Racecourse
METAR came from the back in an impressive burst of speed to notch a double by a head over C&D. She’s up for a hat trick on start number 7 and looks primed for another big effort, especially if able to get away on good terms. COSTA SMERALDA was the rival toppled into 2nd by the selection’s efforts and is better off at the weights today. That said, she has her work cut out if she wants compensation and may have to settle for another minor prize.

STRATOSPHERIC caught the eye when 2nd by ½ a length over C&D last month, following a short rest and gelding operation. He should have plenty more for Justin Snaith now fighting fit and launching from a better draw. CARRIACOU made a splash when 2nd on debut at 16/1 odds a month back. With that to work from he’s capable of contesting the finish.

MAKE IT SNAPPY held on well for a ¾ length 3rd on debut over 7f at Kenilworth. She’s likely to relish the extra furlong and can use that run as a nice springboard here as she launces from a slightly better draw. FALLO ANCORA showed massive improvement when a length 2nd over C&D latest, outrunning 22/1 odds. She’s widely drawn but can build on the showing.

RELEASE ME has shown a lot to like in a couple of speedy affairs over 6f and now upped in trip from pole positon looks primed to make it 3rd time lucky, with improvement highly likely. FUTURE SWING came within a short head when 2nd over 7f here latest and should be right on the premises as he too heads up in trip.

Race 6 – Durbanville Racecourse
PAS DE NOM opened the account narrowly but convincingly over the mile here at the end of June. Rested since, he’s expected to find plenty more headed up in trip again. DOUGLAS is a player having found a good 4th in a stronger event over 7f here. He’s trip proven and could overcome the inconvenient draw.

LE MORNE won by ¾ of a length on debut over this trip at Kenilworth and backed it right up with an identical margin success over C&D last month. He has a hat trick in the crosshair and looks like he’ll put another foot forward to protect his unbeaten streak, despite the penalty. SCALINI remains fairly unexposed and is trip proven. Last seen ½ a length beaten into 3rd over the mile here, the drop sees him dangerous.

Race 8 – Durbanville Racecourse
STIPELIK makes fair appeal despite returning from 182 days off track. Brett Crawford’s filly should be ready for the return and has posted some decent efforts since winning on debut at Kenilworth 12 months ago. MISS GREENLIGHT has had to settle for narrow defeats into 3rd and 2nd, respectively in September. She’s at her best over this trip and could get back on the board here.

Race 9- Durbanville Racecourse
BODY ELECTRIC kicked things off with quite the splash when home with 4+ in hand on debut over 5f at Kenilworth in January. She was sent up to G3 level but wasn’t able to land a blow in 10th but wasn’t too far beaten, all considered. She took some time off and made a pleasing comeback in 2nd over the same trip in July. Now upped to 6f again she could return to winning ways. SHANTASTIC edged out a success by a neck on debut at Greyville but that came on the Poly. She could be anything on her turf but also has a lousy draw to overcome so might have to settle for a minor prize.
