Race 6: 6th@ 8.50/1

Sermononthemount, our longshot play got things started in Race 6 for us and he was near the back early and packed only a mild punch in the lane never threatening. In Race 8, layoff runner – Willful Woman sat a nice stalking trip but couldn’t catch the loose leader over the sloppy surface settling for third. In Race 9, Don’t Forget broke awkwardly then rushed up to press the 3/5 favorite through fractions of 22 seconds flat and 44.1 for a half mile – a sizzling pace before setting the table for the deep closers and fading to fourth. Onward.
We’ll take a look at some races from Aqueduct and Churchill Downs for Saturday. We’re expecting chilly temps at both tracks with a 50/50 chance of rain at Aqueduct and partly cloudy skies at Churchill Downs. I stayed away from the grass races at Aqueduct for Saturday because if they’re not rained off the turf between the expected Friday and Saturday rain, the course will be on the softer side at the very least.
